I went for the blood drive on 7th October 2009.
Well, it was an hour and a half wait for donors, and to be honest, that was kinda boring.
But then again, I figured that was nothing as compared to the value of life.
Refreshments were served after the blood donation. And I got a free T-shirt.
Feels good to be able to save a life.
*As per requested. Design of the T-shirt 2009.
I’ve tried donating blood ..in my old high school a friend and myself got together a group of my friends and encouraged them to give blood. Sadly i was unable ot give blood because i had recently been to another country :S. It’s sad because every summer i leave to go and visit my grandparents. So i’m unable to give blood 🙁 Next summer i plan to give blood when i’m away for the summerin my native country 🙂 .. i hear you feel really light headed after you give blood lol
Well. If you were born and raised here then there isn’t much of a problem (unless you have health issues such as low irion count or low/high blood pressure). If you were born in England/india/Other countries during a certain epidemic period then you may not be able to donate, as there is a potential virus that may still be lingering in your bloodstream. Or if you have traveled to a country (with some form of widespread virus or health issues prior/during/after your visit) 3-6months (depending, may be longer) before your blood donation, you may have to wait a while before you can make a donation, just to make sure your blood is “clean”.
I personally have never donated, i have always wondered what it was like, maybe next time i will try it. What is the rule with being out of the country?
omg i’m a regular blood donor too! but couldn’t donate this year because i went of of the country in the summer. i LOVE thier tshirts! you should’ve posted a picture of the tshirt you got! they design a new one every half a year i think
