Freshmen Reception

The freshmen reception was quite an interesting event. Although it was overcrowded and there were long waits, it was stillĀ  satisfying. At the door I received a folder from the Academic Advisement center, which I think is very informative and helpful because it contains information about the different majors and minors offered at Baruch. It also outlines the requirements for acceptance in to the three different schools. The folder also contains a paper that helps you compute your GPA which I found highly useful because I was confused about the 4.0 GPA scale and what their values were equivalent to. At the reception there were advisers who told us that they are here to assist students with any program planning or issues regarding their academic path. I was relieved to have discovered that there are people out there who can assist me if I ever have any questions or issues regarding my major. The reception was also great because there were cookies and refreshments served, which was a great way to end the day.
