Ethics workshop

This week i attended an ethics workshop. At the workshop, I learned the ins and outs of ethics. The lecturer presented situations and the students decided what to do in each situation. For example, the speaker handed out a paper that said there was a boat with fifteen people on it and it sank. The life boat can only hold up to eight people. The paper had a description of each person on the boat and each person had to state their opinion on who should die and why. What i liked about it was that I got to speak my mind and let everyone know what my opinion was. The exercises were very helpful for life and for my academic career because it showed us that when making business-related or even life decisions, one must ask themselves if what they are doing is ethical. I also learned more about plagerism and what it exactly is. Unfortunately, before this workshop I thought i had a clear understanding of what it exactly is but the speaker proved me wrong. I’m so happy I attended this workshop because it really helped me and i will remember this for the rest of my life.
