On October 11, 2009 I attended the AVON Breast Cancer Walk at Bryant Park. Almost all of the students in my freshman seminar class arrived at the park at 9:45 a.m. We knew the walk began when we saw groups of people walking with pink shirts and banners. Thats when we cheered the walkers with noisemakers, pom-poms, and anything that would help them to continue. Men and women of all ages were there either to walk and help raise money or to support the walkers. At approximately 12p.m, I saw a lot more people walking in the walk. Everyone who was walking, watching, or just cheering the walkers on were very enthusiastic and had a positive attitude. I have been to the Breast Cancer Walk last year and the year before and I was glad to have to opportunity to come again this year. I thought it was a great experience to see our community come together for a valuable cause.
