Database Survival

The library seems to always have something going on. The “Workshops in 30″ offered at the library always provides students with interesting, very helpful information in an effective manner for students. They are short and usually have a motivated speaker. On October 15, I attended the workshop entitled”Database Survival”. Again, I was shocked by the resources available to students. The amount of information that we can find in the infinite (or as close to infinite as Baruch can provide) number of databases is astounding, including JSTOR. The simplicity of searching for information using the advanced search option put me at ease once I realized the weight it took off of my shoulders when it comes down to writing that paper I have due next week. It makes me glad to know that Baruch is so willing to help us, but they will not hunt us down to make use of the help, so fellow students take up the opportunities! I recommend attending any of these workshops, they may take up 30 minutes but they will save you much more time in the future.
