If it were not a necessary aspect of our freshman seminar, I would not have been inclined to attend both the Freshman Reception along with the Study Abroad Fair on the same day, September 17. If I was not motivated by both a fellow student and the inclination to have another signature on my workshop requirements, I would have missed out on the opportunity to make my transition to Baruch College as simple, seam free and stress free as possible. Although it was extremely overcrowded, I was still able to receive vital information necessary to be successful at Baruch. I received information about the different majors available, necessary class requirements along with graduation requirements. It simplified and took a load off of the research that is needed to understand the basics of Baruch. Due to this I can focus more on researching the classes and programs that are of interest to me which will allow me to fulfill necessary requirements while receiving a more effective education. As commented by one of the speakers at the reception, they will hopefully figure out a way to make the information session less crowded next year.
