Avon Breast Cancer Walk

On October 11, 2009, our freshman seminar group got together and went out to support those who were walking in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. Although it was a very brisk and cold morning, we stood for a good few hours on the corner of Bryant Park and cheered on the walkers. From prior knowledge, I know this walk is a very daunting task. It requires you to walk about 13 miles through the streets of NYC, plus the very chilly weather made it even more difficult. It was very enlightening to see so many individuals take part in this event, and it shows their support for this very deadly disease. Personally, I enjoyed participating and cheering on the walkers, and it was made better because I was able to cheer on alongside my classmates.
