On September 17, 2009, I attended an event called The Freshman Reception in which incoming freshman would be able to inform the class of 2013 about the various aspects of Baruch College. Unfortunately, this was not the case. A record of 2000+ freshmen came to take part in this workshop; therefore I did not gain any information that I wished to obtain. Personally, I think that they advertised the event to an excessive amount. Everyone I knew confirmed that they had received mail stating that this event was taking place, and there were many posters all around Baruch College inviting freshman to this event. I think that in the passing years, there were not as many individuals attending this workshop because of the lack of advertising for the event (which was given out in excess this year). This would have been a much more enriching experience if there were less people, or, if possible different days to attend this event in the future.
