On Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 12:30PM to 2:00PM, I attended a workshop about career planning in the New Vertical Campus building. In room 1-107, I learned that it is good to start learning about internships and keeping a good average because it might filter us from the requirements needed for the internships. This workshop showed how important it was to get use to the college environment and start having good study habits. It was a great help to learn about additional workshops that can help students such as the resume writing workshop and the interview workshop. The internships coordinator at Baruch definitely helped; she encouraged us to go to the Starr Career Development center to see her or other people because she will help us with looking for internships. In addition, she gave us the website to looking for internships and to filter out their requirements and what they are looking for. Overall this workshop helped me understand the many importances of starting early and maintaining a good grade.
