On November 3rd 2009 I attended the Sidney Mishkin art gallery and it happened to be very interesting. I liked how the tour guide began by asking who here is interested in majoring in Business. Most of the students raised their hands and she stated how Art is important in the Business World. I learned that a lot of business deals are made in Museums and art galleries and we may have to be able to speak about art in business meetings or dinners. Therefore we have to have a wide range of knowledge, not only in business, but also in the arts. Since the paintings were in chronological order, we saw what Mercedes painted at the age of twelve and it was incredible. She painted a detailed human being, I could not believe that such a young child could paint something like that. We took the tour of her paintings from when she was a child to adulthood. Each painting had immense detail. Everything was amazing except for one thing and it had nothing to do with the artwork. It was the temperature in the room that was unbearable; however, it was worth it to see such artwork and talent. I was glad to have had the opportunity to see it.
