Gallary Tour

On October 6, 2009, I attended the Sydney Mishkin Gallary on 22nd st. At first, I thought the gallery was going to be much larger judging from the size of the building, but I soon realized it was very small. We looked through various artworks that were relatively all black and white. Since I am taking art history, I was able to implement different concepts that I have learned in class into the artworks that I viewed. I was able to analyze the various artworks and have a general idea what the artist was attempting to portray in the paintings. I think this tour was a good experience because it is very informative and I feel that exposure to various artworks is very good for a person. I also think that the students should be allowed to roam freely to view other paintings and artworks. We only covered about  4-5 paintings and I personally wanted to know a little more about the other paintings in the exhibit.
