On November 24th I attended my favorite workshop, which was about impression management. This was without a doubt the most interesting workshop I attended because unlike most of the other workshops the speaker kept the audience involved throughout almost the entire workshop and because I was aware that making a good first impression is key because I learned about it in psychology but I had no idea how important it really was in the business world before this workshop. The speaker put great emphasis on putting yourself out there and creating a great number of connections because most jobs are gotten through connections rather than simply interviewing and online searches. As an 18 year old freshman in college I don’t have much real world experience when it comes to the job market and things of that sort so that is why this workshop was especially important for me, it showed me that first impressions are a key part of making connections and getting a good job.
