On November 10th 2009, I attended the Internship and Goal Setting Workshop. It was probably the most important workshop that I have attended. I am aware that Baruch Colloege has many job opportunities for students and now I now how to get started. I had to register for this workshop online and then signed in on a computer when I arrived. When I sat down, the instructor began after ten minutes. From the start of her lecture, she set her agenda, which was to teach us about Starr Search under the Career Development Center which helps us find internships. She told us about leadership programs, internships and the many finance and accounting companies/firms that recruit from Baruch, which is something that I am interested in. She told us how companies are trying to reach out to the underclassmen through leadership programs that occur during the summer which could potentially lead to a possible internship for the same company. She told us that we could set up an appointment with her to go over our resumes and basically help us find a leadership program/internship/job. This workshop was great and rewarding and really opened up my eyes for the future. I plan on setting an appointment with this woman to revise my resume and to find a leadership program for the summer.
