Avon Breast Cancer Walk

On October 11, 2009, I attended the Avon Breast Cancer Walk with my class hoping to support the walkers in the walk. Due to complications, however, we could not fully support the walkers and had to leave early. We did find other supporters and learned the dedication of others in the community and cheered them on while we could. We were set outside in the public and cheered for any walkers of the event and even though it was out of our comfort zone, we tried our best. It could have been improved if the station advisor knew where our station was supposed to be. Other than that, we learned how much support the fight against breast cancer has. The event was short and we could not fully accomplish what we intended to do but I feel like I gained new knowledge and might join the walk in the later years. I will not cheer those who walk because it seems complicated and will just choose to walk the course with others.
