Career Planning: Internship & Goal Setting

On Thursday, October 22,2009, I attended this workshop, which was hosted by the STARR Career Development Center. The workshop took place in room NVC 1-107 from 12-30-2pm. This was probably the most essential workshop of them all. The speaker spoke to us about the different kinds of internships that are available, which I had never known. She explained that we would have to maintain a certain GPA in order to even be acceptable. Therefore, she recommended we apply for internships during our sophomore year. She even handed out internship manuals, which I think will turn out to be extremely useful when applying for an internship. Overall, I recommend this workshop to almost everyone, because interships will eventually lead to your dream job.
