On November 19, 2009 I attended the career workshop called Job Fair Prep in the William and Anita Newman Vertical Campus. It was held on the first floor of the multi-purpose room. The workshop was supposed to begin at 12.30 p.m, however when I arrived there at twelve, I saw a line of people waiting to enter and be seated. At approximately 12.30 p.m, two men from the Verizon Company arrived to talk to us about getting ready for job interviews. They gave us packets that consisted of useful papers that had information about how to “sell ourselves” to the interviewer. This means to make sure that we present ourselves wearing professional clothes and with professional language. We should always be confident, yet never over confident. I recommend this workshop to anyone that goes on interviews because it was really helpful. There not only freshman, but also sophomores, juniors and seniors that attended, and found it very helpful. I’m sure that when I go on my first interview, I will remember everything I learned from the instructors.
