The Freshman Reception Workshop

I’ve attended the Freshman Reception on September 17, 2009 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. Going to this workshop helped me to fulfill the Academic Enrichment category. A week prior to this workshop, freshmen have received an invitation from college to attend it and since it helps me to get through the workshop attendance passport, I’ve decided to give it a shot.
The reception was overcrowded. 5-215 was filled with freshmen and it was impossible to understand what was going on and where due to poor organization of this event. However, I did obtain some information from the academic counselor on requirements for graduation and minors/majors.
To end on a positive note, meeting new people at the reception further took me out of my comfort zone. Communication with other freshmen is a key to success.
