Today I attended a lecture given by professor Rob Smith in which he talks about and explains the topic of his next book. He explained to us how he attained all the data for the book and the various theories that framed the whole piece together. Basically, his book deals with the children of immigrants and their economic/social mobility in the United States whether that be upward or downward. I personally found the lecture very interesting because some of the issues that were discussed related to myself somehow. Also, the speaker delivered a very strong lecture and I found him to be very intelligent. This workshop made me think in a way that none of the others did. I am happy i attended this one and hope to attend similar events in the future.
