While a bit bookish (literally), and focused more on the economic aspect of immigration than the cultural, this lecture was interesting and informative. While there was an emphasis put on how the data was collected, it was interesting to hear how children from ethnic neighborhoods thought their lives were going to turn out as far as education and employment. While I don’t think anything said in the lecture was particularly groundbreaking, it was interesting to hear some concrete facts about a topic I normally don’t pay much attention to.
