Io and Jove was a story of metamorphosis and adventure. The only thing that was questionable was when Io was turned into a heifer how her emotions were besides the feeling of sad and lonely. When Io found her father and when she explained what happened the most peculiar thing happened. He said “What misery! I was intent on all your wedding rites, your marriage torch, and I was hoping for a son in law and then grandsons. But now it is a bull whom you must we; you’ll bear a bull as son. And I can’t kill myself, however deep my grief”
This was quite unfortunate that her father was more concerned of the fact that she couldn’t give him human grandson’s and that she would get married to a bull, which was unlikely. He even stated he would have killed himself but he explained that was impossible since he was a God. Being a female I thought this was very depressing that this father saw his daughter nothing more than to keep his legacy. His feelings was displaced in my eyes for he should have cared that his daughter had gone through so much and the trials she had to endure. Also the fact that he didn’t even seek for any solutions to change her back. Strength is not measured on the physical appearance but as well as the strength of the heart.
