So this workshop has happened quite some time ago, haha and I remember just a few things that has stuck on my mind. But I feel like I need to add some background of this workshop. It was pretty much listening to 3 professors (one being my own!) and their different perspectives on the new supreme court judge , Sonia Sotomayor. I fail to recall the names of the professors and I’m deeply sorry. Although Professor Des Jardins (my professor) talked about how empowering it was for a woman and how her image and the way she held herself in public was a huge key that made her so interesting. Another professor talked about the way that most Latinos and African American people of America are put down and that they are judged for crimes (as prime suspects) how she breaks a small barrier. I found that this was pretty interesting because not only did they talk about Ms Sotomayor but they talked about some pretty tough issues that many are facing today that can be addressed by our new judge. After that workshop I felt that no matter who you are and where you come from that there is always a better future for you.
