Sports at Baruch

Sports is really not my forte, but I’ll do my best to give an overview of the sports scene at Baruch for those of you that may be interested in joining an athletics team during your time as students at Baruch. There are several different men’s and women’s sports teams at Baruch. The men’s sports consist of basketball, baseball, tennis, swimming and diving, cross country, soccer, and volleyball. Women’s consist of basketball, volleyball, softball, cross country, swimming and diving, tennis, and cheerleading and dance. All athletic teams rotate their seasons throughout the regular school year. In other words, some teams have their season during the fall semester while others hold their season during the spring. In order to be eligible to be a Bearcat you must be a full-time student and have/maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Before you start practicing with your team, you must also pass a medical clearance. Medical clearance will be consist mainly of a sports medicine questionnaire and any health forms that you may need to submit. Any student playing on a Baruch athletic team must also fill out a NCAA Compliance form. For more information, you can visit the Baruch athletic website at http://athletics.baruch.cuny.edu/.
