In this workshop we learned about the life and transition of Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor from her humble beginnings in the Bronx to one of the most powerful judges in the United States. There were a lot of attendees at the workshop and they seemed very interested in learning about her rise to greatness. I found it very amazing that a woman of Mexican decent was able to become a Supreme Court justice.
I think that a lot of people at the workshop were able to relate to Sotomayor because of the struggles she went though to get to where she is today. A lot of the workshop also talked about racism and discrimination as opposed to just the justice. Thanks to the workshop I had found a new interest in who can be considered one of the most powerful people in the country.
