June 2009 is when my experience at Baruch College began. At that time, along with a counselor from my former school, I spoke to the head coach of the basketball team into letting me practice with the team as a preparation for try-outs, as I knew I was going to be a freshman here the following fall. That is why I started coming to the school, three days a week during the whole summer and I really enjoyed it. At that same time I constantly went to the financial Aid office in hopes of securing myself a job on campus. Unfortunately, I am still searching for employment. Then came the two orientation sessions that were opportunities for me to meet my peers and socialize with them, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Finally classes started and that was the big piece of the cake. E-sims, Blackboard, the syllabi ; all these new things flying at me and that I have to get used to. All of which, is nothing compared to the burden of having to purchase textbooks at inflated prices. Nevertheless my classes are interesting and the professors are inspirational. As an overall evaluation, my Baruch experience has been awesome so far, and I really feel comfortable in this environment where I am sure I will accomplish a lot.
