Welcome to Freshmen Seminar! Week 1
Your first homework assignment is to write a brief paragraph (5-10 lines) on your Baruch experience so far.
A couple of reminders for the our next session and meeting.
Next week, on the 8th, we will be meeting at the 3rd floor rooms at 12:30 to go to the library. If you’re not there in 10 minutes I’m leaving without you.
Next class, on the 15th, we will be discussing Successful Academic Strategies.
Remember to get the enrichment workshops out of the way so you won’t be scrambling to do them later in the semester.
Please be ready to discuss the case vignettes during the next class.
A few announcements:
Monday, Sept. 14th is the last day to drop with a 50% refund.
Sept. 21st is the last day to drop with a 25% refund.
Sept. 17th There is a Big 4 Panel Presentation & Career forum from 12:30-2:30
Things we did not get a chance to cover during class:
Attendance Policy – If you miss more than 2 classes, you have to make up the 3rd absence. When you do miss a class, please inform me ahead of time. If you inform me before the class, I will be more understanding. If it’s an emergency, a simple text that you have an emergency will do. If you contact me afterward, I will require proof. The reason for this strict policy is so that we can be fair to everyone in the class. If someone misses 4 classes and doesn’t make it up, but passes the class, it is unfair to everyone else who did come to class. You are allowed to be late 4 times. 2 late marks account as an absence. I will not check your enrichment workshops until the end of the semester, so it is your responsibility to attend the workshops.
Class time: Please refrain from questions that deviate from the class because like today, we will end late. If you have any important questions please ask before the class starts or after.
