Today I went to the library workshop for academic enrichment. During the workshop we learned how to navigate the Newman Library homepage. A lot of the search options are designed for people who know what they’re looking for. (Ex/ If you press magazines, you need to know the title of the magazine that you want.) So if we need help looking for information, we can just go to Subject Guides. Once you choose a category from subject guides, it shows you more specific categories that you can type into books, articles, journals, databases, etc,. I learned that our library ID cards need to be activated at the circulation desk if we want to borrow books. If you do borrow books from Newman Library first, they’ll secretly do it for you. If you don’t, you can’t reserve books online. I’m still not sure how to reserve textbooks online… seems like whatever it is, go to the circulation desk.
