Managing Relationships 10/8

On Thursday I went to the Managing Relationships workshop. The workshop was the most organized workshop I’ve attended so far, however none of them have yet to meet my expectation besides the club fair. It covered multiple types of relationships such as family, friends, business, and romantic. They had this exercise where we had to meet 3 new people in the room which was quite packed, and get to know them. Most people didn’t move because it was abrupt and unexpected which lead to silence when she called on random people to ask who they just meet. I was looking forward to the business aspect of the workshop which fell short. I think the workshop spent too much time on family, and too little on business relationships. This school is a commuter school, so I don’t see why it would have such a big impact on our families seeing we will still see them everyday. The most useful part of the workshop was when they started talking about a site called LinkedIn. It is a site where you network with others like facebook, but on a more professional level. Once I get into Zicklin, I am planning on making an account on there to start networking thanks to this workshop. This is also the first workshop I’ve been to that actually had some order in how books would be signed(by rows).Overall the presentation was good, and would rank second on my list of good workshops right behind the club fair, even though it is a far second.
