On Tuesday Oct 13, i attended The Changing Nature of Race, Power, and Ethnicity in the Era of Obama and Sotomayor. I along with other students were asked to attend this meeting by our History teacher, Ms. Fernandez. The meeting was at around 5 oclock, and i was extremely tired from classes all day. My teacher along with other professors spoke about race and ethnicity. The room was packed with people. A few asked the panelists questions and spoke about their lives and how race affects them. After about an hour and a half, i lost complete interest in the discussion, and just decided to leave. Aside from that, whatever i did pick up from the discussion was really informative, including some of the panelists power point presentations.
