I attended this art workshop on November 3rd. It was in the Mishkin building which took me about half an hour to find. The tour group I was in ended up to be packed because of all the latecomers that were in my group. Nonetheless, I found Mercedes’ paintings to be quite interesting. It was a short workshop but was very informative and I learned a lot of new things about art. I found it extremely useful for someone like myself who would rarely take time out on my own to visit a museum. There were a lot of abstract paintings as well as many still lifes. It showed how abstract paintings were used to show things that a camera picture wouldn’t ordinarily show. Mercedes’ paintings were very fun to look at and attention-grabbing. Overall, the tour was a good idea for a workshop because it was quick, informative, and got straight to the point for many college students like myself who aren’t very interested in art.
