I went to a Gallery Tour on 135 east 22nd street and looked at many works from an artist Mercedes. She draws abstract art and impressions and some of her paintings were very appealing. One of these paintings that struck out the most to me was Still Life with Skulls. This painting was drawn with only charcoal and at first you might see only a bunch of shapes put together, but you can see pieces of skulls and the faces of it too. I like her art because it isn’t drawn with detail but is drawn like a blur, as if you’re not wearing glasses and your eyesight is vague. I think those kind of works are harder than drawing something with detail. Overall i enjoyed the tour and maybe ill visit again when i have the chance.
