Communication in Business these days

Employers do complain about the ability of employer’s communication. I remember from personal experience. It was when I first began my part-time job as an insurance underwriter. I was scolded by my employer regarding my vague communication skill. Gradually, I am enhancing my communication skills. The problem of poor communication skills arises from the society. Students are used to instant messaging, text messaging, emails from when they are very young. Also students these days are responsible for absorbing information quickly based on necessity instead of studying them meticulously with time. Also the media partakes in this matter. by promoting the idea of communication through instantaneous means. For example, in a movie called, RV, the family is very broken and the only way for them to communicate is through email, instant messages and text messages. Unfortunately, it demonstrates the problem of miscommunication and poor communication skill. Also, communication skills are not taught at high schools or lower school levels, but only taught at college. No wonder; as students come from high school to college, they have difficulty adjusting and communicating. The trend these days in business, or at least how I perceive it, is toward the latest technology. Most business have required to have their entry workers to be at least computer literate. Meetings take place via online and seminars also take place in such place, such as webinars. Also business quotes are produced from online instead of calculated manually., These are the trends these days. Therefore, from my perspective and as i have learned through rules of business, such employers who cannot “adapt” these new trends, will eventually “die” out. I thihnk rather than complaining and wasting time, the employers who indirectly influenced these new trends. They should embrace these changes or at least take actions against such problems.
