The workshop I attendeed on Thursday, October 8 was Managing Relationships in College. The category was Personal Enrichment and it was held in the multipurpose room at 12:45. It was more organized than previous workshops. We had a professional speak to us about relationships through the basis of a powerpoint. The basic relationships that were talked about were family, friend, romantic and business. The goal of the workshop was to bring to light the different relationships that exist and how they affect us. I felt what the lady said was solid and holds truth in it. However, I believe most of it was already known. For example, I think we all know that we grow apart from our high school friends. Also, we begin to separate from our family due to more work and less time. One benefit I got was hearing LinkedIn. It’s a professional networking site, similar to Facebook, and it can help in networking. I enjoyed that part. This workshop met my expectations and I took from it the lesson on networking in college. It is important to meet new people and not just go home when class is over. I also enjoyed the exercise when we were to meet 5 people around the room, although many students didn’t step out of their comfort zone.
