Last week, I attended the The Changing Nature of Race, Power, and Ethnicity in the Era of Obama and Sotomayor workshop.It was a workshop to inform us of the racism in the present. It was interesting in the beginning, as we saw charts analyzing different ethnic groups. Later on in the workshop, we were allowed to comment or as questions. People gave their insight on racism. We saw a chart which showed us that in the near future, there will be more people in america from different ethnic groups, and that whites would become a minority. The powerpoints had a lot of informative information. It showed me that racism is still a prevalent issue in america. This was a very good workshop, although i wish they would have made it shorter.
