On November 5th, 2009 I attended Helpline in place of Student Life Workshop, which was approved by Renee. This workshop was taking place in the lobby on the second floor of vertical campus building at 12:30 PM. This workshop was about nutritional facts since it was regarding health and wellness. We received some tips for getting regular exercise to stay at a healthy weight. Also we were informed how to read and understand Nutrition Facts label on various food package. We also discussed how to size up and measure our portions of food. I was taught how to estimate our portion size without measuring cups of food scales. I also had brief introduction on Helpline. Helpline is a health and wellness peer counseling program offered to Baruch college students. It offers confidential one on one assistance as well. The helpline room is located at VC 3-241. This workshop was very interesting and helpful because I did not know how to size up my portion before with scales or measurements. Also I received great tips to stay fit and healthy. It was very helpful to know that there is such counseling program for Baruch Students.
