The Changing Nature of Race, Power, and Ethnicity in the Era of Obama and Sotomayor: Global Awareness

I was informed of this workshop by my history teacher who was a speaker/ host at the workshop. For about an hour and a half a group of speakers spoke about culture and ethnic backgrounds in America. They talked about how important it is to be aware of the different ethnicitys found in the US, most specifically Hispanic. It was a extremely informative and entertaining workshop because of the way it was presented. The speakers used powerpoint presentations with charts and many slides to back up their views and ideas. All of the statistics that were displayed were really interesting and taught me quite a few things I wasn’t aware of. The workshop informed me about the hispanic culture and how it is viewed by many in the world.
