The Nature of Landscape

Title of Workshop: The Nature of Landscape

Category of Workshop: Arts at Baruch

Date/Time: September 22, 2009/1 pm

Today, I went to the Sidney Mishkin Art Gallery to view some art. Although the tour was short, it made me appreciate art even more. I was able to learn that art isn’t just a painting or a drawing but that there is more meaning and information behind the artwork. There is a reason behind the artwork. Some artwork conveyed a sense of morphing reality into something abstract. Other artwork were used to show history through them. Although the artwork were magnificient, the teacher that guided us was monotone in her voice. I didn’t feel as excited as I expected. It was also very crowded and a lot of people were rude because they shifted into talking and shuffling against each other. Also, because it was crowded, I wasn’t able to get up close to the pictures. Perhaps, oneday, I’ll go back and have myself look at it more carefully.
