I attended the Freshman reception on 9/17/09. It was informative and short which I really liked. Some of the other events were just exhausting. I really felt that the professor shared information that would really help me in my future here at baruch.
I went to the Academic Advisement: Student Services Fair on Tuesday, October 13 from 12:30-2:30. It was a big room with about 10-12 stations full of clubs and information about the registrar and internships as well as a few others I was interested in. I got my 10 punches on the stations that most interested me as the receipt of attendance at the workshop. It was productive, but too crowded.
The club fair that took place in the gym was at most disappointing. getting inside was a mission in itself asthere were mobs of people trying to get in, being this was one of the first workshops. there were countless amounts of clubs, with reps plugging each and every one of them. there were academic based clubs, charity based, hobbies, etc. i was somewhat intrigued at the idea of the Encounters magazine, but was turned off by the lackluster inserts that were used in the last installment. Weak.
Although I arrived at the club fair with only 10 minutes left, I learned about a few clubs that caught my interest such as the AIESEC club and the Journalism club. I plan to get more involved with the AIESEC club because I intend to attain an internship or study abroad opportunity for the summer next year. This way I can have an excuse to go back to my Communist country. Hah
The club fair was awesome! filled with so many people! it was great meeting new people and it was very helpful. i got to see all the different clubs at baruch and i hope i will join many of them!
The club fair was pretty big and filled with people but entertaining and informative about the various different clubs. I enjoyed going and seeing what the clubs had to offer.
The Freashman reception was very helpful, and lasted only a short period of time. The information was to the point and clear. I would definatley recomend going to this reception because Ms.Brown explained things thatevery freashman should know and didn’t take too much time to explain.
the club fair was fun and helpful. i got a chance to see the different clubs at baruch and to talk to the people in them. i am thinking about joining two of them now.
