I attended the Gallery Tour: The Nature of Landscapes on 10/6/09 with some classmates. Although I am not an art fan I was very impressed with the art works shown at the gallery. The instructor was VERY informative regarding the works of art on display. I had an all around good time.
The art tour at the Sidney gallery was quite interesting, it bettered my appreciation for art and made me realize that although Baruch is known for its business program, they do recognize culture and its artworks.
I did not actually attend an art workshop so instead I’m writing a few paragraphs about the Arts at Baruch. I heard the Miskin Art Gallery tour was interesting, which was what I had planned on doing. One of our classes this semester is art history, so I’ve done 2 museum visits which can help me understand what these workshops would have been like.
I went to the Gallery Tour: The Nature of Landscapes on Tuesday, October 6 from 1-2 pm. It was overall a very inventive and interesting art tour of the different and various artworks in the Mishkin Art Gallery. We listened to the head instructor for details of almost every painting and I saw some really impressive works of art. We also had a gallery talk and got a lot of our comments fulfilled with more details. I had a good experience learning about the different artworks and appreciating art.
i was always interested in the arts, which is why i was actually looking forward to this workshop. Interestingly enough, it actually was one of the workshops that didn’t bore me half to death. there was a gallery exhibit on sidney mishkin’s monochromatic photographs. there were landscape shots in wide, and silhouetted figures. off kilter-ed angles gave an abstract sense, and i would have recommended this, if anything at all, as the workshop to have gone to.
Peace –
The art Gallery was great… seeing the beautiful works of mercedes really inspired me to do better in baruch. The line was very long but other wise it was a great work shop. the instructor was great she really knew alot of information.
for this workshop i attended the art exhibit called Mercedes Matter: A Retrospect at the Miskin Art Gallery. it was really interesting. the group i was with was guided through a well timed tour of the art of Mercedes Matter. the artist had very interesting paintings, it showed me i had to look at something in deeper and different ways to see its true meaning.
The Art Gallery tour was interesting. Seeing all the different, beautiful artworks around Baruch was very much enjoyable. Plus, taking art history made me only appreciate and understand the artwork better.
I went to the Engelman Theater to see Bach and Before (part2). The music was very, very impressive. I was so proud and impressed how Baruch offers these beautiful recreations of masterpieces. A very big hand full of people outside the Baruch community actually pay to see this wonderful staging and I get to see it for free? Very happy.
The Miskin Art Gallery is pretty cool. The artwork is pretty interesting. There was pcitures taken from a bird’s eye view and some pictures with different colors by using the negative pictures. The artwork makes you want to figure out what message the artist is trying to convey.
