I went to the Student Service Fair. It was very helpful because everyone was able to ask question directly to the people. This was also helpful because it help everyone get to learn more about Baruch. During the fair they gave you a piece of paper and you have to go to different table and get it stamped 10 times. Even though it was crowded I manage to get 10 stamps. Also after this fair I now know where the different departments are such as the writing center, financial aid department, health center and many other departments.
Internship and Goal Setting
I attended the Internship and Goal Setting workshop on November 10. This workshop is about how to set your goal after doing your job and getting a great internship. STARR told us that if we want to get a good internship, we need the job experience. And they also give us some information for talking about the goals and internship, which is also very useful. And I like this workshop because it’s really helpful.
Basic Interviewing Techniques
I went to the Basic Interviewing Techniques Workshop On October 29th. This workshop was about to learn some steps to increase chances of landing a job. After this workshop, I learned lots of things need to be prepared well before the interview. For example, like researching the reviewing of resume and practicing answering potential interview questions.
Annual Student Services Fair
I went to the Annual Student Services Fair on October 13. This fair is about asking questions to the different people and they can help you answer it. I went to the Register adviser and ask about that how many classes can I drop and it won’t affect my financial aid. I have fun in this fair because I met with advisers and learn how to ask question and how to find the answer that I want.
Einstein’s Dreams
I went to watch the play, Einstein’s Dream on November 21. It was a nice play. Its light design is amazing. Besides the light, the way that actors and actresses speak is such as a choir. They are not simply telling a story but like singing. Einstein’s Dream is a nice play within very well design and act, but actually I do not really get the Idea that the play wants to present. Although I do not really understand the whole play, I like its design and the way they present.
Coloring up your future
I went to the workshop of community-global awareness On November 12. The guest speaker was Alfonzo Quiroz who was inspiring. He shared his own experience about political life. He told us that we had to face the difficulties we met and we should have confident to ourselves. It was an inspiring speech that I was encouraged by this successful man. Community-global awareness was a nice workshop that encourages us a lot.
Internship
Workshop of internship on November 10 is really helpful. I got much information and ideas about the works and how to set my goals. STARR was the organization that I knew at this workshop. It was organization that helped people to get the opportunities of internship which helped people to get more work experience. Internship and Goal setting was really a helpful workshop for our future that proved much information and idea about jobs.
Mediating Conflict and Resolving workshop
October 29, I went to the workshop of conflict mediation. At first, I had no idea about what the topic of this workshop was because I just followed other people to get in the room. It was a nice workshop that I got the new information about school. Now, I know there was an office where can help me if I got some conflicts in class or between professor and me. We did some activities also that we played in different roles within different situations about conflicts. It gave us a chance to practice about how to connect the office and explain our situations. It was a helpful workshop that I learn a new area in Baruch.
