Einstein’s Dream

Just the name of this play brought about doubts into my head, a play about Einstein. Just this notion I assumed that this play will automatically be boring and not drama filled but with more scientific reasoning. But who was I to judge, this play took what I knew of Einstein and brought about a whole new idea of him. I did some research online and Einstein’s Dream was actually an international bestseller, and I can even see the reasoning behind it. In this play it contained many elements of what I would expect from a play; comedy, love, and yet also humor. This play is something that I wouldn’t mind watching again and not just for a class but personal reasons.

Einstein’s dream

I went to watch the play, Einstein’s dream, as one of the assignments for my theater class. I was so excited about the play since I heard some compliments about it from others. However, the play was so abstract. I hardly understood what was going on in the play. The play confused me a lot and I even wanted to leave eariler. But something I noticed held my breath, and I insisted to stay. The were the sounding and lighting effects. The desginers made that two effects so impressive and influential, and I even imagined that I was in one of the broadway shows. Apart from the abstractness of the play, I thought that the play was a good show.

coloring up your future

On November 12, I went to a workshop, community-global awareness. The main theme of it was “coloring up your future.” This was a great workshop in which I met a wonderful man, Alfonso Qunizo. He told us about how his interest in acting led to his past political life. He  told us about how he once was invited by the white house and worked as an asisitance for a presidential compaign. That was so awesome to listen to him because I learned a lot by his impressive speech. He was such a successful person who I have ever met in my life. This workshop truly helped me understand more about the adventure of  life.

Einstein’ Dream

I went the show with shao and jimmy and others. The show was great from all perceptive. I really enjoy the show because i am taking theater class. I know that the whole group, the performers, the lighting designer, the sound designer, the producer, the costume designer, stage manager and director have to work really hard to make the show successes.  The most thing I like is that they use people as set design. People set on top of the people. The light and sound work out also. When the show ended, we clipped.  Everyone should appropriate to their work, because it is really hard.

einstein’s dream

I had to go watch this play because it was one of our theater classes assignment. I went in the middle of the play because i was late :(. I was really confused with the story, but throughout all, i thought they did excellent job. Especially, i like the acting, and the lighting. I actually have tried all the lighting system in that same exact theater, because of the theater class, and i wonder how they did it so well. And the actors, i thought they were professionals, even though i was very confused with the story, i could tell that it is hard to portray the roles, but they did it very well.

Annual Student Services Fair

I went to the Annual Student Services Fair on October 13.  Lot of stalls were set up to representate the information and answer our questions. I walked around and stopped by at least 10 stalls which were interesting to me. The one that impressed me mostly was the Study Abroad, because I have been planning to study abroad in the future. I have learned a quite lot from this fair.

Community-Global awareness

I went to community-global awareness workshop on November 12, 2009. The person who was speaking that day was Alfonso Qunizo. He was talking about “coloring your future”. He began with how he started off as an actor and that led him to get interested to political stuff. Then, he intened at the white house. Later, he worked for president cadidates with campaigning. He is a former city councilman in NY. He also talked about his other job experiences. He is currently working at conedison as a spokeperson. It was really great to listen to the person who is having such a successful life, not that he had achieved everything he wanted, i mean at least he has tried and is still trying.

The Freshman reception

I went to the Freshmen Enrichment Workshop on September 17. The workshop mainly taught us about the courses, such as the requirments, majors and minors. Since there were lots of students going to the workshop, we were separately held in different rooms. although it was brief, it was helpful.

Club Fair

On September 24th, I went down to the basement for the Club Fair event. I have joined several clubs before it, so I just walked around for a while and has some looks at some intersting promotions. Even though I have joined those clubs, it is sad that I didn’t even have time to attend to the club events, because we were having workshops and theatre projects. I hope I can join them again next semester.

Mediating Conflict and Resolving workshop

I went to the mediating conflict and resolving workshop on october 29. I had no idea what kind of workshop this workshop was about, the only reason i went was because i accidently register for wrong workshop. As soon as i went in to the room, the instructor basically explained kinds of problems that a lot of students are having in baruch college and how they help students to resolve that problems. After that, instuctor splited people in to groups, and gave us different senerios to do little acting. So basically, on person had to the student who are having trouble and the other person had to be the person who is solving the problem and there was third person depending on the senerio. First, i thought it was fun to see people acting. Second, it was interesting to see the kinds of problems that students are having and there are ways to solve it. Even though, this wasn’t the workshop that i wanted to go, but i was glad that i went because i didnt know there was place like that for students to actually get helped for their own problems.
