So you have read the headline and are probably saying to yourself, “No way am I doing community service.” Part of Freshman Seminar is to try and offer students to do community service. It is an experience that one who has experienced with community service can not explain. The goal is for the students to experience first hand what a truly rewarding experience giving back to your community can be. We, as Peer Mentors, had an option of choosing an event, and fortunately the event that I chose for us to do community service is one close to my heart. I will give you the option of choosing which particular job we will be doing.
The event that we will be doing is called “Bike MS.” I chose this event because a family member of mine actually has MS. I have particpated before for an event for MS not as a volunteer so this will be a new experience for me as well. For more information on MS, please go to www.msnyc.org
The event will take place on October 4th. The time that we have to be at the event depends upon the particular job you decide to vote on.

Please vote ASAP by Thursday morning, so that I can the contact the coordinator to tell him which of the activities we will be doing together as a group. The sooner you vote, the sooner I will be able to tell you what time we have to be at the event. Please read thoroughly the information above. If you do not vote by Thursday morning, I will take the incentive and decide for all of us which activity we will be doing.
You do not have to come. Given the circumstances, it is understandable that you will not be able to come. This community service was an opportunity for everyone to meet and know more about each other. It’s okay that you are not able to make it.
