Mike Eng, Community Service

Today me and Kali did the community service event for Unicef. We were assigned to hand out fliers near the escalators in the Vertical Campus. We had some trouble finding the fliers in the freshman seminar office, but then Racy Rob helped us find them. Me and Kali went to the escalators with the big pile of fliers. My first attempt to hand out a flier was a complete failure. The man didn’t take the flier! I’ll admit it, my ego was damaged and my feelings were hurt. However, after gaining the courage to hand out another, a woman gleefully accepted the flier and thanked me. After that, I felt like I was a professional at flier distribution. We handed the rest of the fliers out in less than 15 minutes. We felt like we should do more, so we made some copies of our last flier, and posted them around the Baruch Campus and told people in the gameroom about the bakesale. It was a great expereince, and Kali was a fun partner.
