Today I attended the blood drive and it was my first time ever donating blood. I must admit that i was getting nervous because in high school I heard so many stories of people fainting and the needle being abnormally large. As it turned out it was not big deal. They had us present i.d and then fill out a form regarding our health conditions and sexual activities. Then we waited on a line by sitting, it was almost like musical chairs. Every time the next person was called, the entire line stood up and sat on the next seat. Once we were called they checked our pulse and iron levels in our blood. If either our heartbeat was too fast or our iron level was too low, we were not allowed to give blood. We then had to wait on another line. When i was finally called, i was asked to sit on a chair, similar to those found near pools and they took out the blood. It turned out to be okay, the needle was regular size and it only felt like a pinch.
