I also attended the library workshop in the Newman Library. It was facilitated by Professor Pena. It was a great experience as I learned how to make the full use of the resources located within the library as well as on the website. The library itself allows students to to borrow textbooks, calculators and cds available at the circulation desk. Electronics such as laptops, dvd playes, camcorders are also available to borrow on the third floor. The library is full of variety of books which may interest many and also holds a large selection of refernce books. The online website of the library gives acces to various catalogs for research. There is access to e-reserves which are articles provided by the teachers for the students’ ease. The online renewal system is also an asset as we can put book on hold, request a book and renev it in time to avoid latefees. The Inter-CUNY library system is also an asset as the students can borrow books from any of the CUNY library. The library holds one of the largest databases of reasearch articles, newspapers and journals. The library is open long hours to provide service to its students and is indeed an essential part of Baruch.
