I was looking over the blogs that I wrote and i remembered I forgot about this one. This was one of my early workshops in which my history professor, Professor DeJardins was in. She was involved in discussions involving women in politics. The primary person the discussion focused on was the newly appointed supreme court judge Sonia Sotomayor. What was important was her background and her rags to riches story. She grew up in the projects of the Bronx and grew up wanting to become a police officer. However, she would become one of the first appointed Hispanic judges on the Supreme Court. There was a lot of knowledge that I gained from the discussion and I was very interested and fascinated with the people discussed.
