Alzheimer Memory Walk

During freshman seminar, we discussed possibly community service activities to do. There was a plethora of suggestions and eventually the LC was split between two activities. Half of the group wanted to do Adopt – a – Soldier and the other half wanted to participate in the Alzheimers’ Memory Walk. We decided that whoever wanted to participate in the walk could walk and whoever wanted to participate in Adopt-a-Soldier could do that instead or if a person wanted to do both they were more than welcome to.

On October 25th, we met up around 11:30 in order to begin the  Memory Walk . There was food and beverages available prior to the walk, but the refreshments were mostly apples, coffee and water.  We began the 2 mile walk which seemed even shorter because of how much fun we were having. It was nice to see each other outside of the usual school environment, talk about random things and take pictures. I found that the Memory Walk served as a dual purpose activity. Not only did it fulfill a community service act but it also served as an activity to help members of the LC bond and become much closer.
