Interracial Relationship Workshop

On November 19th, I attended a workshop that discussed interracial and interreligious relationships. The people in the workshop dicussed the factors that make those interracial relationships a taboo. I wanted to go to the workshop because I am currently in a interracial relationship. The people spoke about their experiences and how their family and friends felt about it. The people in the workshop also discussed their life with negative and positive experiences while they are with their partner. One of the people who struck me the most was a person who was brought up as extremely Jewish and he was Dating a Hasidic person. He said that they knew that both their families would not approve of this kind of relationship. He also discussed about how their children would grow up because of the two completely different religions that the couples had. I can relate to him because I am asian and atheist while my girlfriend is white and Lutheran. Her father would probably not approve of me because of these circumstances but her mom was okay with it. I went to this workshop even though i fulfilled all my workshop requirement. I found this to be the best workshop I attended.
