Today I went with Nick and David to donate blood. First and foremost, we had to fill out a form at a desk that was separated into 4 parts by a piece of cardboard. I guess its purpose was for privacy because there were private questions on that form that some people might not want others to see. Once we finished filling out the forms we had to wait on line. Of course, just like the last workshop there was a long line, about an hour, for seeing the nurse. It got a little annoying because once a person left their chair to see the nurse, we all had to shift a chair down. I would say that we got up and moved about 20 times. I have to admit that I was nervous, but not scared, because this would be the first time that I would be donating blood. Finally comes my turn to see the nurse for a mini check-up. He pinched blood out of my finger, checked my temperature, and the unfortunate part was when he took my heart beat/pulse. This is unfortunate part because the nurse told me that my heart beat was too high, due to the fact that I was nervous, and that I wasn’t able to donate my blood. I took his recommendation of drinking juice and relaxing for a couple of minutes. Well, that didn’t work. I was very upset because at first I never thought I would be donating blood, but then I thought maybe someone out there might really need a donor for blood. I had blood work done a couple of months ago and the nurse told me that my blood type, O negative, is considered a “universal donor” because it can be donated to people of any blood type. I guess I’ll give it another try the next time there is going to be a blood drive.
Thanks, I thought it was the user name I had to change
it’s simple just go to profile on the left hand side of the page. you’ll see that you can choose a nickname, and once you’ve chosen the nickname you can set it as the name to display publicly
Hey, How did you change your user name?
