When I first went into this workshop I honestly expected something completely different. I thought it was going to be a typical workshop where the professors told you how to manage your time and unrealistic ways to not get overly stressed in college. In fact this workshop was a pleasant surprise because it got more involved with the student and ways to actually release stress through yoga like practices. It made you appreciate things more by being mindful and remembering that there is more to life than just study and college. There are so many different ways to relax and you don’t even need to be in a yoga stance to do it. They showed us this was possible by playing a CD that showed us how to achieve muscle relaxation through deep breathing and relaxing.
Another part of the workshop that I thought was even more important because it dealt more with how students showed deal with problems going on in their life now. It gave techniques on how to deal with these problems and possible solutions.
This kind of workshop gave information that is terribly needed to a college student but does not fit in any class room. It is going to be something I will use later on and hopefully it will help in the future.
