For this workshop, I attended the MEDIATING CONFLICT AND RESOLVING DISPUTES AT BARUCH COLLEGE conference hosted by a Baruch professor.  This conference used many scenarios to demonstrate how we can deal with difficult circumstances we are bound to encounter in college.  This conference will be useful because I am in a learning community full of different, sometimes competing personalities.

For the Student Life workshop, I attended the annual club fair at Baruch College.  I saw many cultural clubs and groups that I would have fit into, but I did not join any. I am definitely going to join a club before the year is over becauseI really want to gain the full college experience and experience new things in life.

This workshop took place in the Baruch Art Gallery.  This workshop was a 15 minute tour through different types of photography.  I was captured by many of the pictures, but dissapointed when it was revealed that none of them were taken by
Baruch students.  The black and white section was perhaps the most intriguing.  The  minimalist-style pictures were very captivating.

For this workshop, I attended the Career Planning/ Internship Goal Setting conference.  In this conference, I learned about the various types of internships and the numerous ways I can get an internship through Baruch college.  The presenter was extremely prepared and had an excellent PowePoint.  Through this conference, we were given an Internship/Resume planning manual from Baruch.  The manual is very precise and extremely useful.

we mainly talked about time management and not procrastinating. Although i found the info in this workshop interesting im not sure how to put it to use, they could maybe focus more on that in future

Today, I attended the VITA open house. It was a very good introduction to the business world. We were spoken to by past volunteers and current business-company representatives. We learned how to get involved in the business world through the tax field. It was an interesting experience.

registration was a pain, it took me so long. Every time i got a class that i wanted at the right time it would not allow me to register for that particular class. I got to the point where i just grabbed whatever class in the same time frame as my other classes on that day

this workshop was not very helpful. There were way too many people and it took for ever to get in and when we did it was very disorganized. I did learn a few things the center for academic advisement offers and i feel like i will definitely be back there soon.

The library workshop was one of the more useful workshops i attended. Everything we learned was about using databases and google find reliable sources. It was interesting to learn some of the tricks that help get exactly what you want out of a search.
